A Brazilian billionaire is suing a real estate agency, alleging that he lost $6 million on the sale of his property. Leo Kryss, Tectoy's co-founder, claims Douglas Elliman deceived him about the buyer's identity, according to The Wall Street Journal.Kryss has offered his seven-bedroom, 11 1/2-bathroom mansion in Miami Beach's Indian Creek Village for $85 million. According to Kryss, the business informed him that the buyer would not pay more than $79 million. Kryss then asked the firm's CEO, Jay Parker, if the buyer was Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The complaint alleges, "Parker misleadingly assured Kryss that Bezos was not behind the offer and was not the purchaser."
After selling the home for $79 million, Kryss discovered that Bezos was definitely the buyer. Kryss contends that knowing Bezos was interested may have impacted his negotiations and eventual sale price. Wealthy purchasers frequently conceal their identity to avoid paying greater rates.
Bezos is the world's second richest individual, with $204 billion. Kryss argues that the estate is more valuable to Bezos because of his other properties in the region. Bezos has properties in New York, Beverly Hills, West Texas, and Washington, DC.
The complaint was filed in Miami-Dade County's 11th Judicial Circuit Court. Kryss' residence is in Indian Creek Village, which also houses renowned personalities like Ivanka Trump and Tom Brady.
